So you’ve made it to the Tangled Shore and you’re ready to put that Gunsmith reputation to good use. Spider has got some pretty great bounties lined up, but first there is something he wants if you want to start making big bucks.
Offering his highest-value tasks, both in terms of difficulty and reward, Spider will ask that you acquire a Machine Gun Frame. This isn’t the only gun part he’s looking for either, but it is the first step.
What is Spider Selling Destiny 2
The first thing Spider will offer you is a special quest for your first 50 Hadium Flakes. The only caveat to this, however, is that you can’t do it alone. You’ll need friends, and plenty of them (within reason.. he’s not asking us to go and take down the Vault or anything!).
Luckily enough for you, there is a community that’s been around since day 1 playing Destiny 2, and we’ve got you covered! We’re gonna help you out with this quest, step by step. That said, you can always just pick up the quest card from Spider himself.
We aren’t necessarily going to be your buddies for this part of the process, but we’ll be here to help and guide your through everything.
Once you’ve got the 50 Hadium Flakes, it’s time for you to upgrade that Frame into an Exotic Weapon. Well, almost, anyway.. We’re still missing something! This isn’t a long process thankfully, but it’ll take a little time for you to complete.
What’s missing, I hear you ask? Well, the only thing that’s left is getting your hands on 50 Synthetic Parts. This isn’t too hard of a task, especially over time. There are plenty of games out there who want to get their hands on these parts, and the best way for them to do that is to kill you. You can either grab a partner with you when going out on adventures, or just run around all day long looking for these Synthetic Parts.
Typically they drop from yellow bar enemies, but they can also drop from chests and other random lootable items too. Once you’ve got your 50 Synthetic Parts, it’s time for you to head back into the Spider’s line of sight.
That’s it! You’re now ready to put that Machine Gun Frame through its paces and make yourself an Exotic Weapon. The only bad thing about this process is that there are no refunds on these gun parts.. so be careful with how you use them!
Common Mistakes and Failures of Spider-Sellers
The most common problem we’ve seen with Spider-Sellers is people simply wasting their time. You might think that it’s a simple case of finding 50 Hadium Flakes and 50 Synthetic Parts, but the reality is there are other things too.
If you go out and find 10 Synthetic Parts, then 10 Hadium Flakes you’re not going to be able to create your first Frame. You’ll need to search for these things in the same quantities as they’re required. We’ve said this already, but it’s worth repeating:
Synthetic Parts – 50
Hadium Flakes – 50
If you don’t do this then you’re going to mess something up and lose an item, and we don’t want that.
The other thing we’re seeing is people just plain old forgetting to do what Spider asks. You might go out and find 50 Synthetic Parts, an that’s all great.. but if you don’t have the Hadium Flakes then what’s the point?
Combining these 50 parts with 50 of those isn’t going to get you one step closer to your goal. You’ll need to complete all of his tasks that he asks, and with some luck you’ll get the most value from this process.
People often forget that it’s an Exotic Weapon they’re striving for here, and 50 Synthetic Parts is only going to create a Low-End Frame if you’re using them alone.
